The work completed on York River Public School in Bancroft, Ontario was extensive. The scope of work included a 10,000 square foot addition and 32,650 square foot renovation to an existing elementary school. This project was a high intensity project with an extremely time sensitive schedule as the building was to be occupied during certain construction phases. This project was broken down into 5 phases to renovate 5 different areas of the school within one contract. During multiple phases the school was occupied and our crew had to be cognizant of that. Due to the sensitive nature that the project was located in a school, ever member of our crew was required to have a background check and security clearance. Specific elements of this project included landscaping and restoration, interior demolition, asbestos abatement, excavation and backfill, site concrete work, parking lot granular and asphalt, fencing, footings and foundations, interior patching and repairs, new block work, structural steel framing, rough and finish carpentry, millwork, insulation, sheet metal roofing/flashings/trims, fire stopping, doors & frame installations, finishing hardware, windows, steel studs and drywall, flooring, suspended ceilings, painting, chalkboards & tackboards, toilet partitions, washroom accessories, insulation, ductwork, storm and water work, geo-thermal system installation, fire alarm system, emergency lighting, electric heating, kitchen equipment installation and classroom furniture set up.
